Brent discussing some of his equipment:

"I find it very important to have a good lens, great sensor and solid camera body- but of most importance, the technical knowhow to work your way around photoshop and lightroom. Your camera tries its best to get an accurate representation of the scene; however, it is not as good as your eye and your brain's perception.

I see a lot of people get caught up in their camera not being professional enough, and too cheap. You can get away with getting professional shots on a cellphone if you understand post processing.

My photography dramatically improved when I learned how to use Lightroom and Photoshop. Like any trade, the post doctoring is always essential. As far as the physical gear goes, I shoot primarily with a Canon 6D and my 70-200 f2.8. I love the telephoto compression I get at 200mm.

I shoot RAW because I do not like to give the creative liberty to my camera. My brain knows the best white balance, exposure setting and black point, not the camera. I can get the same results with a different camera and cheaper lens, I am just comfortable with my setup and it is durable for travel."
